Stuart Walker is a regular contributor to BBC and takes part regularly on BBC Radio Wales breakfast programmes. He has also appeared in TV documentaries such as Wales this week and Car Crash Britain. His driver training has been well documented in the media, and stories featured on TV news include skid control training, 4x4 training and events, training the youngest female bus driver in the country and training a pupil overnight to enable them to pass on their 17th birthday.
In 2021, Stuart returned to HGV/LGV training to help with the lorry driver shortage crisis working at Gatewen Training in Wrexham. Stuart had 21 consecutive passes, including 4 clean sheets and the 21 people that passed averaged only 1 minor fault per test.
He has been training learner drivers since 1987 and is a highly qualified driving instructor and more recently began using his wealth of qualifications and experience as a driving consultant. He is a qualified lorry and bus instructor, IOPD authorised off-road lorry and trailer instructor, car instructor and a 4x4 Borda Specialist Trainer qualified instructor.
For many years Stuart ran his own 4x4 training and events business and also had his own skid training business. Now he is using his wealth of driver training skills and experience as a driving consultant, helping a variety of companies solve driver training dilemmas and ensure that their drivers drive as safely and as fuel efficiently as possible.
He has helped companies solve many driver training problems and has designed specialist bespoke courses for various companies and has also been training people to become driving instructors since 1989.
Due to his amount of experience, Stuart is also available as a driving instructor for TV work and documentaries as well as providing insight into locations suitable for TV filming.
